What to expect
All sessions start with a detailed intake to ascertain your current level of health including stress levels, mental status, areas of pain, discomfort or restriction, and how you want to feel at the end of your session. From there you will be instructed on how to undress if necessary (always to your comfort level: fully clothed, fully nude, or somewhere in between) and get on the table (face up or down, always under the sheet if undressed, possibly on top of clothed), and I will leave the room. Once I re-enter the room (after a light knock to make sure you are ready), I will pull from my entire tool kit to meet your needs for the day to the best of my ability. Please remember that this is your session and your comfort is of the utmost importance. I cannot meet those needs if you don’t communicate. If at any point you need the music changed (whether it’s the volume or style), the table warmer adjusted, the bolster moved, or an adjustment to the technique (more pressure, less pressure, that is THE spot, etc), let me know. If you are not comfortable self-advocating, tell me during the intake and I will be sure to check in from time to time. Massages and energy work are a time for you to completely let go. Sometimes this means an emotional response, a fart, stomach growling, or letting your mask down. I am used to it, and this is a safe space for you to be yourself.
