Traditional Table Massage
I am a trauma-informed massage therapist who knows the key to a great massage is listening and understanding that the mind and body are one whole interconnected unit. My holistic approach and abundance of knowledge of the human body, as well as various massage techniques, styles, and ideologies, are combined with my years of experience feeling and listening to the body. This results in my highly intuitive and varied style of massage that incorporates all of the techniques and my repertoires into each session. Each session starts with a detailed intake to ascertain your current level of health including stress levels, mental status, areas of pain, discomfort, or restriction, and how you want to feel at the end of your session. From there, I will instruct you on how to undress (to your comfort level always: fully clothed, fully nude, or somewhere in between) and get on the table (face up or down but always under the sheet) then leave room to allow you to do so. Once I re-enter the room (after a light knock to make sure you are ready), I will pull from my entire tool belt to meet your needs for the day to the best of my ability. Please remember that this is your session; your comfort is of the utmost importance to me, but I can’t meet your comfort needs without communication. If at any point you need the music changed (whether it’s the volume or style), the table warmer adjusted, the bolster moved, or an adjustment to the technique (more pressure, less pressure, that is THE spot, etc), let me know. If you are not comfortable self-advocating, let me know and I will be sure to check in from time to time. Massages are a time for you to completely let go. Sometimes this means an emotional response, a fart, stomach growling, or letting your mask down. I am used to it, and this is a safe space for you to be yourself.
